this… is me. I don’t usually post pictures of myself, but I’m frickin’ proud of this. I crocheted this vest myself. I learned to crochet when I found this pattern, and I finally finished it. This is the vest that River Tam wears in Objects in Space and Jaynestown. and I hit like a million thrift stores to find a dress that was at least somewhat similar. this dress was originally brown and cream and like two sizes too big. nothing a sewing machine and a few bottles of dye couldn’t fix. I realize it’s not perfect, but it’s close enough for me. The vest however, is damn near perfect and I’m really happy. I guess you can call it cosplay, even though I don’t have any immediate plans to wear it to a convention or anything. Regardless, I think it’s awesome. apologies for the crappy picture, it’s the best I’ve got.

This is one of the many things I love about cosplay ^_^ what a gorram effort to learn a whole new skill like crochet just to imitate River’s vest! I for one would kill to have a replica this close! Well done lady, you look awesome.
